Ear pinning surgery is typically performed under local anaesthesia with sedation or general anaesthesia, depending on the patient’s needs and age.

Procedure

The procedure usually takes 1–2 hours and involves discreet incisions made behind the ear to ensure minimal visible scarring. Excess cartilage and skin are carefully reshaped or removed, and the ear is repositioned closer to the head and secured with internal stitches for a natural-looking result.

Recovery & Aftercare

Following surgery, patients may experience mild swelling and discomfort, which can be managed with prescribed medications. A protective bandage is applied initially, followed by a lighter dressing as healing progresses.
