We apply dermal fillers to the area where additional volume is needed, using a very fine needle. Creating volume beneath the skin can help to provide a smoother, fuller complexion; reducing the appearance of facial lines, as well as lifting sagging skin around the mid and lower face. In cases of weak, misshapen or less defined features, dermal fillers can be used to enhance the facial structure and create a stronger profile that disguises any irregularities.

Key Considerations

Treatment Duration

The application of dermal fillers only usually requires a single treatment session. If we are treating one area you can expect the treatment to take around 30 minutes. However, if you wish to address multiple areas, treatment time will increase or may even require further appointments.
Many patients are pleased with their results and wish to maintain their new look. As dermal fillers dissolve over time, repeating the treatment every 9-12 months may be necessary.

Type Of Anaesthesia

Dermal fillers can be mixed with a mild local anaesthetic to make the process of injection much more comfortable, and works for most of our patients. However, if you feel the need, we can discuss the option of having a numbing cream applied to the skin 20-30 minutes prior to treatment.

Aftercare Requirements

Dermal fillers provide instant results, however, you will need to allow the product to settle in place so as not to affect the outcome. We ask that you avoid touching or rubbing the treated area for up to 6 hours, and wait 24 hours before applying make-up.
