About the procedure
A facelift treats sagging in the lower face and neck, such as jowls and loose skin along the jawline. Rather than simply pulling the skin tight, a deep plane facelift lifts and repositions the deeper layers of the face beneath it.
The aim is a refreshed, natural-looking result that keeps your character, not an over-tightened or “done” look. Where appropriate, it can be combined with a neck lift, or with endoscopic brow or mid-face lifting as part of Dr Arshad's signature hybrid approach.
Is it right for you?
Suitability depends on your anatomy, skin quality, general health and goals. Dr Arshad will assess this at your consultation.
You may be considering a facelift if you are concerned about:

Information
A deep plane facelift lifts and repositions the deeper layers of the face, rather than only tightening the skin. It is used to address sagging in the lower face and neck, such as jowls and loose skin along the jawline, with the aim of a natural-looking result.
Suitability depends on your anatomy, skin quality, general health and goals. Dr Fas Arshad will assess this at consultation and explain whether a facelift, or another approach, is right for you.
Most of the initial healing takes around 2 weeks, during which swelling and bruising gradually improve. Many patients feel ready to return to light social activities within 3 to 4 weeks, although full recovery can take longer depending on the individual.
Incisions are usually placed discreetly along the hairline and around the natural contours of the ears, and tend to fade over time. Dr Arshad will explain where any incisions will be placed before you decide.
The procedure is performed under anaesthesia, so you will not feel pain during surgery. Afterwards, most patients describe mild to moderate discomfort rather than severe pain, which is managed with prescribed medication.
Results can remain visible for many years, although the natural ageing process continues. Lifestyle, skin quality and aftercare all influence how long your results last.
Your surgery is performed by Dr Fas Arshad, FRCS (ORL-HNS), Consultant Facial Plastic Surgeon at Leeds Private Hospital.
You can choose a free face-to-face or phone/video consultation, a video consultation with Dr Fas Arshad (£90) or an in-person consultation with Dr Fas Arshad (£250) — both deducted from your procedure. All options are in the booking calendar on this page.
