What Are Injectables?

Injectables are non-surgical treatments delivered by fine needle to rejuvenate the face and soften the signs of ageing. They broadly fall into two categories: anti-wrinkle injections, which relax the muscles responsible for expression lines, and dermal fillers, which restore lost volume and enhance facial contours.

Anti-wrinkle injections are ideal for treating dynamic lines such as frown lines, forehead creases and crow's feet, while dermal fillers can plump lips, lift cheeks, define the jawline and smooth deeper folds. Our consultation process will identify the most suitable combination for your goals.

Treatment Duration

Most injectable treatments are quick, with a typical appointment taking around 30 minutes depending on the number of areas treated. Anti-wrinkle injections and dermal fillers can often be carried out in one visit, and you can return to work immediately.
Anti-wrinkle injections begin to take effect after around 24 hours, with full results visible within 2 weeks and lasting around 3 to 4 months. Dermal fillers give an instant result that settles over a few days and can last 9 to 12 months. Repeat treatments help to maintain your results over time.

Type Of Anaesthesia

Injectable treatments are well tolerated and use very fine needles. Dermal fillers can be mixed with a mild local anaesthetic to improve comfort, and a topical numbing cream can be applied around 20-30 minutes before treatment for sensitive areas such as the lips.

Aftercare Requirements

Injectables offer minimal downtime. We recommend avoiding strenuous exercise, alcohol and heat for 24 hours, refraining from touching or rubbing the treated area, and waiting 24 hours before applying make-up. Some mild redness, swelling or bruising may occur but usually settles within a few days.
