During your liposuction procedure, your surgeon makes small, carefully placed incisions close to the areas being treated. A fine tube known as a cannula is inserted beneath the skin and used to loosen and gently suction away stubborn pockets of fat. By working in controlled, even passes, our surgeons sculpt the treated area to create a smoother, more proportionate contour that works in harmony with the rest of your body.     Treatment Duration

    The length of your liposuction procedure depends on how many areas are being treated and how much fat is being removed, and it often lasts up to three hours. In some cases more than one session may be recommended to achieve a fully balanced result, and your surgeon will discuss a realistic plan with you in York.

    Type Of Anaesthesia

    Small, discreet incisions are made so that excess fat can be gently suctioned away. Liposuction is typically performed under local anaesthesia, though some cases may require general anaesthesia. We will agree the safest and most comfortable choice for you at your initial consultation.

    Aftercare Requirements

    A supportive compression garment is worn after surgery to control swelling and help the skin settle to its new contour. Mild soreness and tightness are normal in the early days and can be managed with prescribed pain relief. Final results usually become visible after around six weeks once swelling and bruising have resolved.

    Light, gentle activity is encouraged soon after surgery to support healthy circulation and healing. Most patients feel ready to return to a desk-based or light role within one to two weeks, keeping activity levels low. Full recovery is generally anticipated within two to four weeks.
