About the procedure
Rhinoplasty is surgery that reshapes or refines the nose to improve its appearance, breathing, or both. Whether the concern is size, shape, symmetry or function, each procedure is tailored to your facial structure and goals.
Dr Arshad's approach prioritises natural results that bring balance to your face, rather than a “done” look. Where it suits your anatomy, ultrasonic (piezo) instruments shape the nasal bones in small, controlled steps instead of traditional chisels and rasps.
Is it right for you?
Suitability depends on your nasal anatomy, breathing, skin and goals. Dr Arshad will assess this at your consultation.
You may be considering rhinoplasty if you are concerned about:

Information
Rhinoplasty is surgery that reshapes or refines the nose to improve its appearance, breathing, or both. Each procedure is tailored to your facial structure and goals.
Ultrasonic rhinoplasty, also known as piezo rhinoplasty, uses specialist instruments that vibrate at ultrasonic frequency to reshape the nasal bones, instead of traditional chisels and rasps. Dr Arshad will explain whether it is appropriate for you.
Where breathing problems are caused by structural issues, such as a deviated septum or nasal valve collapse, these can often be corrected at the same time (septorhinoplasty). This is assessed at your consultation.
Swelling and bruising usually reduce within 1 to 2 weeks. Most patients take around 2 weeks off work and return to exercise after 4 weeks. The nose continues to settle over several months as the swelling resolves.
Most incisions are made inside the nose. If an external incision is needed, it is usually placed under the nose and fades significantly over time.
Rhinoplasty is performed under general anaesthetic. Afterwards, most patients describe mild to moderate discomfort, swelling and pressure rather than sharp pain, which is controlled with prescribed medication and improves within a few days.
The results of rhinoplasty are usually permanent. They develop over several weeks to months as bruising and swelling settle.
