What’s Involved

These specific wrinkles are formed from the movement of facial muscles and the overlying skin. The reason toxin injections are used for this treatment is because the product will work to relax the muscles and soften their movement. We administer toxin injections directly into the relevant muscle (usually on both sides of the face) which works immediately to achieve the desired result.

It generally takes at least 24 hours to take effect, with reduction of movement for 48-72 hours and the total effect within 2 weeks.

The effects will last for around 3-4 months when a repeat procedure will maintain results. The skill of our practitioners ensures you can still use the face expressively, ensuring the appearance looks rested, and not ’frozen’.

Treatment Duration

Toxin injections can be administered in around 30 minutes. The treatment entails cleaning and preparing the treatment area, marking out injections points on the skin and applying the product. The treatment may take longer if multiple areas need to be addressed, or if you’re combining toxin injections with other skin / anti-ageing treatments.

Type Of Anaesthesia

The application of this treatment is tolerated well by many of our patients as we use very fine needles. However, we will discuss the use of a topical numbing cream during the consultation, which can be used if you wish. The anaesthetic cream usually takes 20-30 minutes to take effect.

Aftercare Requirements

To avoid the product from spreading beyond the treated area, we advise you to avoid touching or rubbing the face for up to 24 hours. Although it is possible for toxin injections to combine with other treatments, our professionals will know how this can be done safely. If you are considering any other facial treatment we would advise you to wait for at least two weeks if it’s not included within a personalised treatment plan.
